Prof. Carlo Ratti writes for Financial Times about how new AI algorithms can impact the property market. Congestion control has been a fundamental function in computer networks as it allows controlling the throughput of the data injected into the network with the goal of reducing the impact of congestion on applications' performance. This becomes even more challenging with the emergence of eXtended Reality (XR) applications and their stringent performance requirements in terms of latency, throughput and tolerance to packet loss. By the end of the week, Zoom cemented Yuan's commitment not to use customer data to train AI and issued a revised TOS, effective August 11, 2023. Hashim's blog post was also updated with an editor's note reiterating Zoom's AI policy. The breaking news here at the end of the week is that the backlash had led Zoom to change its TOS to avoid the issue of data collection for AI altogether.
